Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 7, 2026

This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We believe in plain-language privacy — if anything is unclear, email us at contact@empowermg.org.

What we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Your email address (required — this is how you sign in).
  • The date and time you accepted our Terms of Service.
  • Your notification preferences (if you opt in to marketing emails).
  • The timestamp of each sign-in (for security and account recovery).

We do not collect your name unless you provide it voluntarily in a form. We do not collect IP addresses for tracking or profiling. We do not use third-party analytics that build profiles of you across the web.

Why we collect it

  • Email — to let you sign in, send you the emails you asked for (if any), and contact you about your account.
  • Consent records — to comply with anti-spam laws (CAN-SPAM in the US, CASL in Canada, GDPR in the EU) by documenting when and how you agreed to receive emails.
  • Notification preferences — to send you only the emails you want and honor your unsubscribe requests.

Who we share it with

Your data is processed by the following services, each of which has its own privacy practices we've reviewed:

  • Supabase — stores your account identity and manages sign-in.
  • Resend — delivers transactional and marketing emails on our behalf.
  • Sanity — hosts our editorial content (this service does not receive your account information).
  • Vercel — hosts the website.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.

How long we keep it

We keep your data until you delete your account. To request deletion, email contact@empowermg.org from the address associated with your account. We will remove your data within 30 days.

Some data may be retained longer if required by law (for example, records of consent for marketing emails must be retained to demonstrate compliance with anti-spam laws).

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask what data we have about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time.
  • Export a copy of your data (data portability).

To exercise any of these rights, email us. If you live in California, the European Union, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, you may have additional rights under local law — we will honor them.

Cookies

We use cookies only for sign-in (keeping you logged in as you move between pages). We do not use cookies for advertising, tracking, or profiling. We do not use third-party tracking pixels.

Shared identity across our services

The account you create on hub.empowermg.org is the same account you can use at events.empowermg.org and other services operated by Empower Ministry Group. This means if you delete your account, it is deleted across all of our services.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will notify account holders by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
